Dr Stephanie Kaye-Barrett, MBChB, MD, FRCP Consultant Rheumatologist, Past President of the Rheumatology Section, Royal Society of Medicine, London.

Her CV is extensive but highlights include appearances on the BBC, appearing on numerous occasions in Tatler’s Top Doctors Guides, as well as many prizes including the multiple awards for her international work in places such as Kenya and the West Indies. Previous positions held include President of the Rheumatology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine (where she still offers her expertise as a trustee and member of council), Lead Rheumatologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and Senior Lecturer in Rheumatology at Imperial College.

Today, Dr. Kaye-Barrett is the Medical Director of Chelsea Rheumatology Clinic. She is also the founder and Medical Director of RTMS London. She underwent extensive training in TMS, from the University of Mastricht and is a certified specialist and provider of TMS. She runs her own rheumatology clinic at The London Clinic,116 Harley Street, London, as well as providing some global outreach rheumatology training and practice in some instances.

Dr. Kaye-Barrett’s extensive experience with diverse patient populations (both paediatric and adult combined with her relentless clinical curiosity shapes her clinical work with patients. Innovative thinking and finding solutions when patients are at a loss (as evidenced by her appearance on the Diagnosis Detectives, (BBC 2, i-player) are key attributes of her as a physician.  Although she uses life changing pharmacological treatments (including anti TNFs/Biologics) when appropriate, Dr. Kaye-Barrett specialises  in holistic, non-drug treatment interventions for muscle and joint pain whenever clinically appropriate.  

Her latest position as the Medical Director of rTMS London further enables her to help patients who have not found drug treatments beneficial. Many chronic pain patients also have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), which she has long experience in managing. Dr Kaye-Barrett holds a postgraduate qualification from the University of Maastricht, and is the first rheumatologist in the UK to offer this breakthrough treatment to patients with chronic, treatment-resistant muscle and joint pain. rTMS is a novel and extremely safe treatment for chronic pain, which uses electromagnetic stimulation to support recovery from systemic neurological changes associated with chronic pain. As a qualified osteopath and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation (PMS) Provider, Elliot works as part of Dr. Barrett’s team to provide TMS and PMS treatment for patients with chronic, treatment-resistant muscle and joint pain.

Elliot holds a TMS training Certificate from the University of Maastricht, and is one of only a handful of individuals in the UK to hold this qualification, which allows him to safely and effectively deliver TMS and PMS treatment under the clinical supervision of Dr. Kaye-Barrett at the London Clinic 116 Harley St. As a qualified osteopath, Elliot also provides patients with rehabilitative exercises to ensure that they are able to achieve the best results possible.

Like Dr. Barrett and the rest of the TMS London team, Elliot is passionate about offering alternative, non-invasive, non-drug treatment options for patients with chronic muscle and joint pain.
